Mazda has provided two recommended
schedules of time and mileage for vehicle maintenance. The
appropriate schedule is determined by the driving conditions in which the
vehicle is operated.
As many of the unique driving conditions listed below exist in the Washington DC metro area, Mazda recommends that Schedule 2 time or mileage should be followed to properly maintain your vehicle.
Schedule 1 Normal Driving
Conditions 6-month / 7,500-mile interval
Follow Schedule 2 if any of the following driving conditions
apply:
Repeated
short-distance driving
Driving in dusty
conditions
Driving with extended use of brakes
Driving in areas where
salt or other corrosive materials are used
Driving on rough or
muddy roads
Extended periods of idling or low-speed operation
Driving for long
periods in cold temperatures or extremely humid conditions
Driving in extremely
hot conditions
Driving in mountainous
conditions continually
Most car owners believe in following a strict mileage schedule
for routine maintenance like oil changes. Mileage is only part of the
recommendation. In the
Unique Driving Conditionsof
our area, following the 4-month time interval is
the most effective way to properly maintain your vehicle. If you drive more than 15,000 miles annually, you will need to follow the recommended mileage interval. When choosing between time and mileage, please remember the most
important element is time. Thank you, Gary Morin Service Director
